Relationsh*t Rears its Ugly Head

Remember this post about Relationships and shit?  Well, here's a quick update on my eternal battle royale with my dear sweet husband's habit of messiness.
Last night he figured out the the chocolate I bought last week is in fact butterfingers in heart-shaped wrappers, hence the need to snack on a few while in bed.  Lovely.  Please note the open coke... it a rarity that there is only one on his night stand.  I consider this a small victory, BUT that might be because I cleared 4 from there yesterday.
The laundry battle continues. Can you see that the hamper is RIGHT THERE, mere inches away from the clothes.  I would like to note that both the laundry and dry cleaning hampers are side by side.  As I get closer to my due date, I am dreading this battle will continue and I will lose due to exhaustion and taking care of the new beebs.

Just Faux Fun Friday

Social media has its pros and cons.  One of the pros for me is the spread of humor and joy.  This can be by sharing a funny joke, a photo of an incorrectly spelled sign, a person asleep on the job (see below), etc.  Yes, some may be humor at another expense, but the truth is it's humor and makes me laugh.  Here are a few gems I've stolen from Facebook posts. Anyone whose picture I stole, feel free to comment and get your recognition!
This makes me think of the SNL skit when Will Ferrell is Alex Trebek from Jeopardy and Darrell Hammond is Sean Connery.  Sean - "I'll take the rapists for 500."  Alex -"That's Therapists."
My sister in law loves to dress up her dog, and as you may remember, we tried it with Tibet at the beach in the fall.  Anyway, she had this photo shoot for her wedding website. I love it!

A friend on Facebook has several iterations of this situation.  Her name is Gloria; she likes to sleep at work and apparently has an organization problem from the stacks of papers in her cube.  Or perhaps the papers are piled up because she sleeps on the job.
Her ass is eating the pole, ya'll.

Happy Friday! I've been getting my craft on this week so I might have something to show you next week if everything works out.

Shopping Fun

So now that I am officially unemployed, I have the freedom to run errands during the day, which is amazingly efficient.  I decided to go to the outlets last week since I had to be out of the apartment for repainting.  The place is 45 minutes to an hour away, but they have a ton of stores.

My purpose for the visit - Ralph Lauren to get some cute baby clothes and Pottery Barn for Nursery accessories.  The result:  The Ralph Lauren Store doesn't carry kids clothes and the Pottery Barn was literally in the middle of closing it's doors.

No joke, this is literally what I walked into.  I had to turn around and look at the door, thinking I may have walked into the wrong place.  About 30 minutes later, when I walked by again, those 3 racks of items were empty.  It was a great trip.

Full Disclosure 4

And, I'm back.  I can't believe it's almost February and I am pregnant as hell.  When I walk past a mirror, I still am shocked at how much my stomach has grown.  We are really in the home stretch with having everything we need for when Justin Beiber arrives, but I still panic often that we may be missing something important.
A lot of people have been asking about the name and I have taken to telling them - Candle, Candy for short, because she is the light of our lives.  Those who know me don't buy it and how could they?  They know I have impeccable taste. ha!

  • Weight gain: I gained 10 lbs in one month according to my December visit, then lost 2 lbs at my January one.  This was right after Christmas, how is that possible?  Nonetheless, I have been feeling the effects of being pregnant and find standing up, sitting down, and getting my shoes on have become more difficult.
  • Baby Size: So I have an app on my phone that gives me daily and weekly updates about J Beiber and how she is growing and developing.  I'm sure you've seen this: each week they compare her size to an object.  My question is where the hell did they come up with these?  Week 26 was an english hothouse cucumber; week 28 - Chinese cabbage, week 32 - Jicama -- WTH are these and further, we all know fruits and veggies are ALL different sizes.  They would have better luck comparing her length to something like an A10 envelope and her weight to that of rolls of quarters or something.  At least that's all standardized.
  • Nesting:  I'm not sure if you'd call it nesting, as much as wanting to get a crafty as possible, but DIY blogs, Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics are all websites I've been frequenting.  In fact, I went to JoAnn on Sunday and the place was hopping.
This was the line to get fabric cut.  And there we're 3 ladies working!
