An Actual Passive Aggressive Note

Last week, someone in my building broke some sort of glass in the breezeway between our buildings.  Between the time a resident notified Pamela* at our front desk and she went down there to assess the situation (about 10 minutes), someone had posted this note.  Not only was is printed and on the door, but there were 2 copies so the note was visible from inside and outside the building!!!

I’m not sure if you can read this or not, so I’ve typed it out and let me tell you, this is LONG!

To the inconsiderate person and/or persons who feel it is ok to break glass in the main doorway and not clean up:

I know that in your world it may seen that no one else lives in this apartment complex and that this entire place was built for you and the purpose of you being able to make a mess and not clean it up. But the fact is that there are many of us who do live here and share this space with you. We also have kids, and dogs, which despite recent advances in technology; they have no quite yet created shoes for.

On your way to Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some more wine glasses, please stop and pick up a broom and dust pan. You will feel better about yourself for taking responsibility to clean up the mess you made, and I, no any other residents at Lofts 590 and their kids/pets will have to worry about getting cut on broken glass.

Sincerely,

Concerned Neighbor

Someone must have really been having a BAD DAY to spend their time to type this craziness up.  I mean, yes, it's rude to leave behind a dangerous mess, but we all know passive aggressive notes do not solve the situation.

*Not really Pamela.
